• Saint  Spyridon

For hiking and sports enthusiasts, we recommend the scenic 3.5 km route from Maria's Filoxenia Suites | Filoxenia Apartments to the small chapel of Saint Spyridon, along the Vivari Lagoon and through citrus groves. The Church of Saint Spyridon in Vivari is a favorite spot for romantics to hold their weddings. Experiencing absolute tranquility, whether during the morning sunrise or the sunset, we suggest enjoying this beautiful route, with its enchanting colors and the fragrance of citrus fruits provided by nature.

• Kastraki

Between the bay of Tolo and the Plaka beach of Drepano, just 3 km from Maria's Filoxenia Suites | Filoxenia Apartments, the Kastraki Peninsula rises, which is identified with Homeric Asini. The Ancient Acropolis of Asini stands atop a steep hill at the edge of the sea, where the walls and ruins of the Acropolis can still be seen. Two circular routes lead through the Lower Town and the Acropolis, with informative signs detailing metal and wooden bridges and ladders in hazardous parts of the path. The trails of this historic area have been visited by tourists from around the world for many years, helping to highlight and preserve the monumental remains. The small chapel of Panagia, located at the center of the Acropolis, hosts ceremonies such as weddings and baptisms, offering stunning view of Kastraki beach, the cosmopolitan Tolo and the island of Agioi Apostoloi.

• The Hill of Prophet Elias

The small church of Prophet Elias is built at 119 meters on the top of a tall, egg-shaped mountain and it emits a unique feeling when illuminated at night. It is located in the settlement of Agia Paraskevi - Tselou, conceptually connected to Asini, which lies at its foot. Asini is the neighboring village, just 5 km from Maria's Filoxenia Suites | Filoxenia Apartments. In recent years, with the help of volunteer residents, 449 steps have been constructed, making the church more accessible to pilgrims. On the eve of the feast day of Prophet Elias, 19 July, people ascend to the top of the mountain and spend the night there, preparing for the religious ceremony of the festival the following day. With a 25-minute ascent, one can reach the church of Prophet Elias and enjoy panoramic view of half of the Argolis region. On clear days, one can even see the island of Spetses. This is a journey worth walking and at the end, you will be rewarded with an exceptional view of the citrus groves and the sea.

• Arvanitia – Karathona

The Arvanitia – Karathona trail is a scenic path of about 2.5 km that winds between the roots of the historic Palamidi rock and the sea, ending at the small harbor of Karathona. If you enjoy hiking or jogging, you will love this route. If you’re a fan of fishing, you can bring your fishing rod or even a spear and fish in the small coves along the way or at the end of the trail. The path, with its breathtaking views and tranquil atmosphere, serves as a haven for those who wish to immerse themselves in nature. Starting from the square at Arvanitia Beach, the beautiful trail runs parallel to the coast, offering stunning view all the way to the Karathona Bay. If you have the time, let the sunset catch you and enjoy the sight, filling your soul and mind with colorful images.

• Monastery of Saint Dimitrios Avgo

The Monastery of Saint Dimitrios Avgo is one of the most significant Christian monuments and attractions in the Argolis region, located 25 km from Maria's Filoxenia Suites | Filoxenia Apartments. Its origins date back to the 11th century and it is situated near the village of Didyma in Argolis, on a steep side of the Didyma Mountains, nearly an hour away from the accommodation. Specifically, it is built above the valley of Iria and on the northern part of Mount Avgo, at an altitude of 320 meters. The location of the monastery is closely linked to the Rado River, which you must cross to reach the monastery, starting from Iria along a rugged dirt road. For the nature-loving hiker, on a beautiful spring day, a unique panoramic view unfolds as you make your way to the monastery. The surroundings offer a peaceful and picturesque landscape, making the hike an unforgettable experience for those who appreciate both history and nature.
