Our area combines abundant greenery and a beach with crystal-clear blue waters, featuring alternating sand and pebbles that stretch all the way to Ancient Asini. Tall trees that host a variety of birds, orange groves, vineyards and colorful flowers set the scene. Visitors can indulge in endless walks, running, cycling, swimming, and exploring the surrounding landscape.
Nature lovers will be thrilled by the variety of greenery and hiking trails that lead them in a short time through the fields to the Vivari Lagoon or to the village of Asini passing through Drepano or even from the beach towards the stunning acropolis with its ancient king. The most adventurous can climb up to Prophet Elias and the hill of Avgo, which dominates the entire area.
The region hides many beauties that cannot be exhausted in one visit and those who come, return again, while some even stay here for most of the year.
Drepano is a seaside village in the Municipality of Nafplio, just 10 km from Nafplio, the capital of the Argolis Prefecture (10 minutes by car) and approximately 145 km from Athens. The area is particularly favored by nature, as it combines the lush green of the plain with the deep blue color of the sea, with Plaka beach located nearby.
Along the coast, you will find hotels, rental rooms and campsites that can cater to all your needs. The accommodation owners have ensured that their facilities meet the needs of you and your family. In some cases, there is also access for people with disabilities. If you want to enjoy the delicious local mezes and fresh fish of the area, there are family-run fish taverns right on the beach, and you can also enjoy your coffee or a cool cocktail at the cafés and beach bars by the sea.
In the square of Drepano, you will find traditional taverns offering local dishes made with fresh, locally sourced ingredients. Be sure to visit some of them, as the village’s owners will treat you like family.
During the summer months, the village attracts many tourists. However, it has not lost its traditional charm, with friendly locals, a peaceful atmosphere and picturesque narrow alleys.
Despite the region’s tourism appeal, the residents continue to engage in agriculture, animal husbandry, and fishing. For this reason, Drepano is surrounded by beautifully organized farms, mostly producing citrus fruits.
Important Date: August 25–26 (Traditional Festival of Saint Adrian and Natalia).
